How to Bookmark Youtube/Reddit Comments in Chrome with Flect

cover

When you're scrolling through YouTube or Reddit and suddenly come across a sentence that really hits home — isn't it such a shame to just let it slip away and get lost forever?

Wouldn't it be great if there was a tool that let you quickly capture those valuable insights right under any video or post, and later jump straight back to the exact spot in the original content? In this age of constantly distracted attention spans, something like that would be incredibly helpful for actually retaining what matters.

flect

Today I want to introduce you to a gem of a tool called Flect — it does exactly that, and does it beautifully.

Everything you highlight gets collected into a clean, centralized dashboard where you can organize them using notes, tags, or folders — keeping your thoughts tidy and easy to find.

First, Install Flect from the Chrome Web Store.

Privacy-wise, Flect is super respectful — it doesn't collect any of your personal data. Everything is processed and stored locally on your device only.

Once installed, you're good to go — no complicated setup!

bookmark

Just select any text with your mouse (left-click drag), and Flect pops up gently. Click once to save — you'll see a neat little success toast in the top-right corner so you can double-check or undo if needed.

It also supports image highlighting — see how to highlight images with Flect if you're curious.

opennewtab

After you've captured a few highlights, open the sidebar or the dashboard (it opens in a new tab) to organize everything.

In the dashboard view, simply drag any highlight over to the folders or tags list on the left and drop it where you want — super intuitive and satisfying.

Later on, when you want to revisit something you saved, just search:

search

Use / or # to filter by folders/tags, and type plain keywords — Flect's powerful search will bring back exactly what you're looking for, no matter how long ago you saved it.

Thanks so much for reading all the way to the end!

I really hope Flect becomes one of those tools that quietly makes your daily browsing and learning so much better. Give it a try and let me know what you think~

Happy highlighting!
